1. You always get the white pieces, the computer gets black.
2. To start playing, make a move by first clicking on the piece you want to move and then the square you want to move it to.
3. To create a special board position before starting, click on 'Edit'. To add/remove pieces, click on the piece/blank-square from the right pane and click on the square you want to move it to on the chessboard.
